Childhood best friends Carley Rutledge and Monica Moser join forces for the ultimate Friday Night Lights re-watch podcast. Monica and Carley’s friendship first formed when they were just wee babes growing up in Fort Worth, Texas where they became far too codependent, developing a vernacular of layered inside jokes and references (inside other references) that would stump even the most avid TV fans. They bonded over their obsessive love for Harry Potter, harmonizing to Christian rock bands like Relient K, dissecting movies and TV shows that inspired them, and going to see shows of genres your average Texan was not in the least bit interested in.

They grew and learned a lot from each other in high school as they navigated relationships, career passions, life direction, and everything in between. Carley would go on to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder to study Evolutionary Biology and get a Master’s in Technology Arts. Monica would attend Belmont University in Nashville to study Songwriting and Music Business, launching an artist career and working in the music industry in digital promotions, marketing and editorial. Launching a podcast has been long-anticipated (just for them, no one else), and they’re excited to fill what they believe has always been their… destiny?

They haven’t lived in the same city since 2012 and a podcast was always a far-off, someday idea. But once shelter-in-place mandates began happening all over the U.S. in the spring of 2020, co-hosting a podcast remotely seemed more and more doable and natural. They decided on a re-watch theme because they love the cult fan and nostalgic aspect of these kinds of podcasts, and they decided on Friday Night Lights because of their shared Texas roots and high school experience, and because it’s an amazingly executed, emotive, wildly underrated show.
