In October 2018 I released my first album your absence, a closeness. It is a conceptual record: the sequence takes you through the journey of letting someone go and letting the false narrative our past writes for us and forces us to walk in go along with it. The songs move intentionally from a bit of a bitter, subjective view to a more hopeful, objective perspective, but doesn’t pretend to be fully resolved. I’m still learning how to hold the past loosely. I’m still reminding myself that the further I bury hurts the more they’ll come alive. Sometimes realizations are declarative and sometimes they’re still questions & that’s okay. At least we’re asking them.
